Blaine Safety Camp 2008

Safety Camp Opening Ceremony

On July 22-23, 2008, 150 fourth graders enjoyed themselves while learning about injury prevention and safety.  The two days of camp were full of fun and interactive presentations with topics ranging from water safety to safety on wheels.  Camp highlights included a demonstration by the Police Department’s K9 Unit and a helicopter landing by the Minnesota National Guard.  Campers were also given bike helmets which were properly fitted by safety service employees and members of Safe Kids Anoka County.  The camp was successful at building new friendships and instilling self-confidence in the participants while they learned about safety.  Safety Camp is a cooperative effort between the Fire Department, Police Department and the Park and Recreation Department.

Safety Camp is dependent on private and corporate sponsorship. We would like to thank the following organizations for their outstanding support and for making 2007 Blaine Safety Camp a wonderful success!
