The Blaine Safety Camp offers kids a fun way to
learn about safety.

The fire department works with area businesses to promote fire prevention and safety at community events throughout the year.

Upcoming Events:

  • Blaine’s “Get Active” Bike Ride, Free Bike Helmet, and Fitting All Ages
    Come join us for this free event, and yes you read it right FREE BIKE HELMET & FITTING!  We will have members of Spring Lake Park-Blaine-Mounds View Fire Department & Blaine Police Department at this event to properly fit your helmet for you and your kids!  Once you have a helmet fitted, we have a special bike course set-up to ride around the beautiful trails around Lakeside Commons Park.  It doesn’t matter what time you come during the time period listed below!  Refreshments and city trail maps will also be provided.  Pre-register to be guaranteed a bike helmet for this event, a limited supply of helmets will be available at the event!  Registration may be done only by mail, fax, in-person, or in the night drop box at city hall.  Register by June 28. DATE:  Thursday, August 12,TIME:   4 – 7 p.m.,FEE:      FREE!

    Safety Camp
    completed 3rd grade only, Blaine Safety Services and the Blaine Parks and Recreation Department are co-sponsoring an exciting program to teach kids, through a variety of fun activities, how to be safe in their daily lives.The 14th annual Blaine Safety Camp topics may include: fire safety, head injury prevention, water safety, poison control, first aid, safety on wheels, animal safety, and more.  There may also be a visit from a helicopter, and a police K9 demonstration.  Min. 60/Max. 150.  Safety Camp is held at SBM Fire Station 3, located at 11920 Ulysses Street NE, Blaine.Fee includes lunches, snacks, t-shirt, adult leadership, fitted bike helmet, awards, and all activities.  Fee assistance is available for Blaine residents who qualify.Registration is open April 5 for Blaine residents only!  Remaining spots are open to anyone beginning April 12.  No online, fax or phone registrations will be accepted for Safety Camp.  Registration is open by mail, in the night drop box outside City Hall, or in-person at the Park and Recreation Department. Registrants MUST provide areport card from the current year to prove grade level.DATE: Wednesday & Thursday, July 21-22 Wednesday:  8:00am – 4:30pm, Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm, 6:15pm – 8:00pm Awards CeremonyFEE: $25 

    Family Fun Night!
    Join the Blaine Parks and Recreation for Family Fun Night, an evening dedicated entirely to families.  Children can enjoy FREE kiddie carnival games, music, explore a police car, fire truck, and an ambulance at our vehicle fair.  Food concessions will be available or families can bring a picnic dinner!  We will also have multiple inflatables for your kids to enjoy.  And don’t forget to bring your camera.  Event held at Aquatore Park. DATE:  Tuesday, July 27, TIME:  6 – 8 p.m. FEE:  FREE!!!!!!
